What I am . .

I am an SEO expert.

Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO, is at the very core of web design.  As I regularly tell clients, it’s all very well having the most beautiful website in the world, but if no one can find it, then you might have well have just flushed your money and business down the pan.

This isn’t to say that you should sacrifice the look and feel of your website, but building your site with Google in mind is only common sense these days.  Small changes can make the world of difference, and I’m happy to advise you on what these are.

Meta tags, CSS, page positioning, page ranking, and most important of all, site content, all play their role in ensuring that once Google has got to your site, it then knows which terms are hot, and which are not.  But SEO isn’t an exact science, and what Google wants changes on an almost daily basis.  A few years back, it was all about the meta tags, today Google focusses on content, tomorrow, who knows? (Well, Google, probably, but they’re not telling).  Keeping up to date with SEO trends is a vital part of what I do.  I regularly attend industry seminars, conferences and trade shows to keep abridge of current developments, so you don’t have to.

I am a PPC expert.

There are two ways of getting to the top of Google search rankings.  My favourite, long term method, is to build your website to be as search engine friendly as possible (SEO).  But this is a long term strategy – it generally takes at least three months for initial changes to be picked up by Google.

A complimentary fix to SEO is Pay Per Click (PPC).  PPC enables you to sponsor key search terms, often allowing you to leapfrog the organic Google listings.  You’ve all seen Sponsored links.  They’re visible in the right hand side column (and sometimes at the top of the page when done well) of your Google search results.  Now, running a PPC campaign isn’t rocket science, and I’d be lying if I told you you couldn’t manage a simple campaign yourself (if a web consultant does tell you this, it’s time to get yourself a new web consultant), however, running a campaign well, and within budget does require experience, knowledge, and time.

If yours is a simple niche market campaign, I’ll happily set it up for you, and then hand over the controls.  If it’s a bit more complicated, then I’ll set it up and manage it monthly for you.  Either way, you’ll have added a powerful marketing tool to your repertoire.

I am an online copy writer.

Writing web content for Google is a very specialist skill.  Writing it in a way that appeals as much to the human eye as it does to search engines is even more so.   I am able to combine both disciplines to ensure your web content is well structured, aesthetically pleasing, coded correctly and Google friendly.

More importantly though, I am able to tell you what your customers are looking for.  Using Google trend analysis I will identify key search term trends, and use these to tailor your site’s content, ensuring it gets visited by the largest number of relevent users possible.
