What I am not . .
OK, so a lot of this site tell you about what I am, but, in the spirit of openness, here are a couple of things that I am not.
I am not a web developer.
I hold my hands up high and admit it. Whilst I’m quite happy to jump in and manipulate lines of HTML now and again, if you’re looking for someone to code you a website from start to finish, I am, unfortunately, not your man. I do however have access to several HTML/PHP/SQL coders that I have built up strong relationships with over the years, and in my role as web consultant I am quite happy to project manage any website construction from start to finish.
You’ll often find that coders, whilst frighteningly intelligent, don’t always communicate in the same language as your average layman, nor do they necessarily understand the customer perspective. As a result you’ll often find them constructing websites that are technically flawless, but practically useless. My traditional marketing background, combined with extensive digital experience, means I’m perfectly placed to interpret both the client and the end users requirements, and translate this into a language a coder can understand and work with.
Time and time again I have discovered that having a knowledgeable go between can make or break a project, and I’m here to ensure you project is the success it deserves to be.
I am not a graphic designer.
Whilst I’m not shy with Photoshop, and I’m pretty nifty with InDesign, I try to limit my design work to webpage mock ups and customer journeys. I’ve got several graphic designers that are a lot better at it than I will ever be, and I recommend using them to full effect. From past experience, I know that design costs, if left unchecked, can swiftly run into the £1000’s. Having someone on hand who knows how long a job should take and cost means you’ll be insulated from extravagant design charges and inflated timelines. Whether you’re looking for full brand development, or just some new business card designs, I’m happy to facilitate the work on your behalf.
